The Measure of Experience

How do you measure experience?

Exercise:

Ground yourself, put both feet on the ground, take a full breath.

Think about the last negative emotion you experienced.

Visualize the time and place when it happened, recall the details and context.

What emotion were you feeling?

Now identify where you feel that emotion in your body?

Describe the physical sensation.

Now give the sensation a voice. What is it trying to express? What words?

Let it speak. Listen to it.

Now what core belief about yourself are the words, sensation, and emotion tied to?

Use an “I" statement to find it. “I am alone….I am worthless…” etc.

Now take this core belief about yourself and let it help you understand how it is entangled with the emotion you felt and the reality it experienced.

This is how you begin to measure experience and identify the ways you create your reality.

You can do the same exercise with positive emotions.

This measure of experience will help you understand the root and source of your intent.
